Compliance with COPE, WAME, DORA, FAIR Principles and Guidelines
When selecting and accepting manuscript submissions, the editorial office adheres to the ethical principles defined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), WAME (World Association of Medical Editors), FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability), and DORA (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment).
The journal follows the principles and recommendations of COPE regarding:
- publication ethics for editors, authors, and reviewers;
- procedures for handling cases of ethical misconduct;
- retraction and correction policies;
- prevention of plagiarism and academic misconduct.
The journal adheres to the principles and recommendations of WAME regarding:
- authorship ethics;
- conflicts of interest;
- protection of personal data of research participants;
- transparency of research funding.
The journal adheres to the principles and recommendations of DORA regarding the assessment of scientific research:
- does not use journal impact factor as the sole criterion for evaluating article quality;
- evaluates articles based on their scientific quality rather than the prestige of the journal;
- does not promote practices that inappropriately manipulate citation metrics;
- encourages authors to disclose a broad range of scholarly achievements.
The editorial board supports the principles and values of Open Science and considers open research data an essential component of transparency and reproducibility in scientific research. In its activities, the editorial office is guided by the principles of FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability), which ensure the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of data.
In accordance with the Methodological Recommendations on Research Data Management for Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutions regarding mechanisms for the preservation and reuse of research data (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), the editorial office encourages authors to ensure access to the research (scientific) data underlying published results.
The editorial office offers the following main ways of providing access to research data:
- publication of data as supplementary materials associated with the scientific article;
- deposition of data in specialized repositories (institutional, national, or international) with open metadata and persistent identifiers (DOI).
In cases where open access to data is not possible due to ethical, legal, or security reasons, authors must provide appropriate justification in the manuscript.
For research involving personal or other confidential data, it is recommended to provide anonymized versions of the data. Data sharing must not violate the rights and confidentiality of research participants.
Results of research conducted with public funding should be open, except in cases provided for by law (in particular regarding personal data or copyright).
It is also recommended to include dataset DOIs in the reference list as separate bibliographic entries.
