Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy

 General Provisions
 The editorial board confirms its commitment to the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics, and transparency.
 Artificial intelligence (AI) in this policy refers to digital systems capable of generating text, images, code, or other scientific content, performing analytical data processing, automatically reviewing manuscripts, or producing conclusions that typically require human involvement.
 AI Usage Policy
 Generative AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Bing AI cannot be considered authors or co-authors, as they cannot bear legal or ethical responsibility for the content of a publication. Authorship implies the ability to approve the final version of a manuscript, respond to editorial comments, ensure accuracy, and guarantee the absence of plagiarism, which is only possible through the involvement of real researchers. The use of AI during writing is permitted only for improving language, style, or structure. Authors bear full responsibility for all content of the manuscript, regardless of its source of creation.
 The transfer of manuscript content to third-party tools that store entered information without the authors’ consent is considered a violation of the confidentiality of the editorial process. The editorial board reserves the right to use tools for detecting texts and images created or modified with AI in order to maintain scientific integrity and trust in publications.
 Authors
 Authors may use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, etc.) only as an auxiliary tool for language editing, stylistic adaptation, or preparation of technical descriptions.
 The use of AI to generate scientific statements, results, hypotheses, or citations without verification and meaningful author oversight is prohibited.
 The fact of AI usage must be clearly stated in the article—for example, in the “Acknowledgements” or “Materials and Methods” section.
 If AI was used in data analysis, code writing, table creation, or visualization, this must be indicated in the “Abstract” and “Methods” sections. The declaration should include the name and version of the tool, the prompt text, as well as the date and time of system use.
 The use of AI or AI-assisted tools for creating or editing images, figures, graphs, or graphical abstracts is not permitted. The only exception is when such tools were part of the research method. In such cases, this must be described in detail in the “Methods” section, including an explanation of the process, the name of the tool, version, manufacturer, and technical details of its application.
 Example wording: The authors used ChatGPT (GPT-5 version, OpenAI) for language editing of the text. All results were verified and manually edited by the authors.
 The author bears full responsibility for the content, data accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards, regardless of AI involvement.
 AI cannot be listed as a co-author of a publication.
 Reviewers
 The use of AI in preparing reviews is permitted only with editorial permission.
 If AI is used, the reviewer must indicate this in comments or in a cover letter.
 It is prohibited to input manuscript texts into AI systems without editorial consent in order to preserve the confidentiality of author materials.
 Editorial Board
 The editorial board may use AI tools only for auxiliary purposes, such as: detecting plagiarism or text overlap;
 - linguistic analysis or language checking;
 - bibliographic data analysis.
 Automated systems do not make decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts—this is the exclusive responsibility of editors and reviewers.
 Ethical Principles
 The use of AI must not violate academic integrity, copyright, confidentiality, or impartiality principles.
 It is prohibited to use AI for:
 - generating fictitious data, sources, or citations;
 - manipulating peer review or authorship results;
 - automatic editorial decision-making.
 All cases of hidden or improper use of AI may be considered violations of publication ethics.
 Policy Updates
 This policy is subject to periodic review in accordance with international standards (COPE, Elsevier, Springer Nature) and current regulatory documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity”.
